Obituary of James Mullen

Beloved father, grandfather, husband, and brother James Mullen (Jim), of Flemington, formerly of Brick, passed away peacefully with his wife and kids by his side on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the age of 59.

Born in Teaneck to the late Frank and Shirley Mullen, he grew up in Brick and was a graduate of Brick Memorial High School.  He lived in Flemington for the past twenty years.

Jim enjoyed his job as a commercial project manager for many years. He has accomplished many oversights of restaurants, business, and stores.

Jim enjoyed going fishing on Island Beach State Park with his kids and grilling food for everyone. Even if there was nothing biting, he enjoyed the company of his family and the peacefulness of the ocean. He had a passion for theme parks and roller coasters. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed entertaining and cooking food. Finally, Jim enjoyed the company of his pets and loved them dearly.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kathleen Harke-Mullen; his three children, James Mullen, Jr. and his wife, Victoria, Crystal Mullen and her fiancée, Chris Czapik, Brandon Mullen; and two step-sons, Eric Swick and Brian Swick.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Sharon and Kevin Conley, Jodie and Bob Wood, Peter and Amy Mullen, Michael and Elsa Mullen, and Lynda and Steve Jerolman; his grandson, Jason; with one more on-the-way. Finally, his many nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Shirley Mullen, mother of James and Crystal Mullen.
