Obituary of John James Stromick

JOHN JAMES STROMICK, JR., 55, of POINT PLEASANT, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2008. Born in Plainfield and raised in Scotch Plains, he has lived in Point Pleasant for twenty - five years. John was a 1971 graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School where he was a member of the basketball team. He served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed in Greece, Italy, and Spain. A florist, John worked for his family at Mr. Jon's Flower Cart in Scotch Plains and later for O'Brien's of Point Pleasant. He was also an avid fisherman. He was predeceased by his father, John J. Stromick, Sr. Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother, Eleanor Johnston Stromick and his sister, Barbara McGovern, both of Point Pleasant. He is also survived by his nephew, Shayne McGovern and by his grand nephew, Lucis McGovern. Friends may visit from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday at the PABLE - EVERTZ FUNERAL HOME OF POINT PLEASANT, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 8 p.m. a service will be held.
