Obituary of Gloria Adamo

GLORIA GERONIMO ADAMO, 84, of POINT PLEASANT, passed away, Monday, December 29, 2008. Born in Hackensack, to the late Charles and Tekla Geronimo, she was raised in Lyndhurst and also lived in Wayne before moving to Point Pleasant in 1973. Gloria was an active member and past-president of B.P.O. Elks, Ladies Auxiliary, No. 1698, Point Pleasant. She also was a member and past-president of the Toms River Garden Club; was a former Cub Scouts Leader; and was a member of and art teacher for Saint Martha's Beehive. She was predeceased by her son, Douglas Adamo. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-four years, Gus; two sons, Robert Adamo and his wife Mercedes and Charles Adamo and his wife Cheryl; her daughter-in-law, Linda Adamo; her sister, Viola Thomson; six grandchildren, Leigh, Michele, Michael, Daniel, Charles, and Anthony; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Payton, Anthony, and Jordan; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m., Thursday at THE PABLE - EVERTZ FUNERAL HOME OF POINT PLEASANT, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 9:30 a.m., Friday, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the B.P.O.E. Handicapped Children's Fund, 820 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742, are suggested.
