BENJAMIN P. MAGGIO, 90, of MANCHESTER, peacefully passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at his daughter's Point Pleasant home, surrounded by his family.Born in Passaic, to the late Bartolo and Agatha Alesso Maggio, he lived there and for many years in Clifton, residing in Manchester for ten years.He served in the United States Army, during WWII and worked for the City of Clifton retiring as the Senior Tax Assessor. Ben was totally devoted to his family. Although deeply missed, his memory will continue on through his legacy.He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Murgio Maggio; his sister, Gina Stefanacci; and by his brothers, Francis, Anthony, Russell, Dante, and Emil Maggio.Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joy Uva and her husband Robert of Weddington, NC and Jane Giliberti and her husband Dr. Rocco of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren, Robert and Christian Uva, Jaime Beth Holt and her husband William, and Benjamin and Melissa Giliberti; and by a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Holt.Friends may visit from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 12 Noon, Wednesday, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by entombment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Meridian at Home Hospice, 1340-A Campus Pky., Neptune, NJ 07753, are suggested.
