Obituary of Marigo Sirchio

MARIGO "Big Mare" SIRCHIO, 94, of OLD BRIDGE, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009.Born in Lowell, MA to the late Peter and Muriel Mavoides, Mary lived in Newark most of her life. A devoted wife and mother, she also worked for forty years for the City of Newark, Electrical Inspection Bureau Mary was a strong woman with a passion for life. She loved to dance; was a high roller in Atlantic City; and was always trying to feed you. Most of all, she loved her family.She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Sirchio and by her granddaughter, Michele Sirchio.Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Racioppi and her husband Fred, Patty Nesta and her husband Joseph, Barbara Christopher and her husband Rocco, Donna DeRosa and her husband Vinnie, Edward Sirchio and his wife Jackie, and Michael Sirchio and his wife Kathy; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; her nieces, Patsy and Dolly; and her nephew, Billy Sirchio.Friends may visit from 5 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Wednesday, a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 20 Hillcrest Road, Holmdel, followed by interment at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the charity of the donor's choice in her name, are suggested.
