Obituary of Christine Lee Couch

CHRISTINE LEE COUCH, 46, of OCEAN, passed away, Friday, June 12, 2009, at the Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Wall. She fought a courageous battle with lung cancer, but was not a cigarette smoker. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Philadelphia before moving to Ocean eight months ago. A graduate of Comsewogue High School, Port Jefferson Station, NY, Christine attended the University of Massachusetts, and graduated from The Restaurant School, Philadelphia, where she achieved Honor Roll. She worked as a chef in Philadelphia and was a licensed property and casualty insurance agent. She also worked for the Hyatt Hotel, Philadelphia. Surviving are her mother and step father, Corrine and Joseph Batcho of Orlando, FL; her father and step mother, Gary and Helga Couch of Ocean Twp.; her brother, John Couch of Orlando, FL; three nieces, Brittan, Morgan, and Sloane Couch; her loving aunts and uncles, Deb and Ed Smith, Wendy Fahey, Diana Ritter and John Matthews, and Barbara Ellis; and her cousins, Val, Charles, Gabrielle, Edward, Alexis, Tara, Magee, Bobby, Jennifer, Mandy, Heidi, and Stephanie. Friends may visit with the family from 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 6:30 p.m. a remembrance service will be held.
