Obituary of Charles Wesley Polhemus

CHARLES WESLEY POLHEMUS, JR., 64, of POINT PLEASANT, passed away, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Point Pleasant, to the late Charles W. Polhemus, Sr. & Rebecca Tilton Polhemus, he lived there most of his life. In 1996 he moved to Arrington, VA and returned to Point Pleasant in 2008. Mr. Polhemus worked as police officer for the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department, retiring in 1994 as a Sergeant. He was a United States Air Force, Vietnam War veteran and was a member of the P.B.A., Local No. 158, Point Pleasant. Surviving are his wife, Angela Burns Polhemus; his son, Charles W. Polhemus, III and his fiance Amber Stickle and his daughter, Florence Filtz and her husband Dennis, all of Point Pleasant; his sister, Charlotte McCarthy and her husband Charlie of Brick; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Conner, and Angela Filtz, Charles W. ,IV and Donna Polhemus. At 10 a.m. on Friday, June 19, a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head.
