Obituary of Edward M. Miscavage

EDWARD M. "Pop Pop" MISCAVAGE, 78, of TOMS RIVER, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his home. Born in Scranton, PA, to the late Simon and Helen Miscavage, Ed lived in Elizabeth and also in Brick before moving to Toms River in 1979. He was the former owner and operator of Ed's Mobil Service Station, Manasquan, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ed loved his family, sports (especially the Mets), the Red Sox, ESPN Channel 102, music, The Oldies, his den, The Crystal and The Atlantis Diners, God, The Silver Bullet, ice cream, candy, Tiramisu, hugs, home, and television. His true passion was auto mechanics and also used to enjoy R.V. trips to Eagle Lake in the Pocono Mountains. Ed was country before country was cool and liked trips to Nashville. He was predeceased by his first love, Jean in 1976, whom he married in 1956, and by his brother Tom in 1999. Surviving are his last love, Jacque Mason Miscavage, and they have been married since 1979; his daughters, Diane Ivany and her husband Dennis of Barnegat, Virginia Erb of Brick, and Cheryl Ferrara of Egg Harbor Twp.; grandchildren, Jean, Dennis, Danniella, Eric, and Melissa; and great-grandchildren, Calleta, Billy, Dennis, Seth, and Giselle. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Dodger. The family would like to thank Ed's loyal and faithful companion, Eva Pula, for her love, tenderness, and faithfulness. Friends may visit with the family from 2 - 6 p.m., Friday at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Saturday a service of remembrance will be held at the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Bay and Forman Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach. Interment will be held privately. Please omit flowers. Donations made in his memory to the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church are suggested. Ed loved bright colors. Please wear these colors to celebrate his life. He would always respond to "I Love You" with "LOVE YOU MORE!!"
