Obituary of William Harvey

William Philip Harvey "Bill" of Davie, Florida passed away, July 16, 2009 at Azalea Gardens Assisted Living in Hollywood, Florida. He was born in Yonkers, NY to the late Phil and Mae (Morris) Harvey. He retired from Bell Atlantic where he had been employed as an engineer. He was a graduate of Manasquan High School and Wagner College, Staten Island, NY. He was a choir member, past youth advisor, Elder and Deacon of Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Also, he was a life member of the Point Pleasant Boro First Aid; a Maine Hospice Volunteer; NJ Coastal Care Givers of Interfaith Volunteer; member of Hillsman Chapter of SPEBSQSA, Norway, Maine; Jail ministry with the Gideons; and Broward County Florida Meals on Wheels. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Jean Young Harvey in February, 1996. Surviving is his wife, Janet (Galling) Harvey; two sons, William Esola and Brian Harvey and his two daughters, Heather Landsfeld and Marybeth Schank as well as 13 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ on Saturday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made in his memory to any of the following organizations: Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church Children's Memorial Fund, Bay and Forman Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
