Obituary of Michael Edward Tonkovich

Michael Edward Tonkovich, of Brick, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016. He was 52. Michael was born on February 20, 1963 in Point Pleasant, the seventh child of Joseph and Elizabeth Tonkovich. He graduated from Brick Township High School in 1981 and was a self-employed. A unique soul, Michael was very young at heart and loved animals, especially his faithful companion, Kato. He was extremely proud of his nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph A. Tonkovich. Michael, beloved son of Elizabeth Tonkovich of Brick, is also survived by six siblings, Laura & William Dohery of Point Pleasant, Thomas and his fiancée Bridget of Point Pleasant, Joseph & Elizabeth of Brielle, Gregory and Donna of Farmingdale, Donald of Point Pleasant, and Christopher & Colleen of Lanoka Harbor. He was a cherished uncle to seventeen nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his uncle, Bruce & Cindi Tonkovich of Toms River. At 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 29 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Dominic R.C. Church, 250 Old Squan Road (At Route 88 & Van Zile Road) Brick, 08724.
