Obituary of Norman Charles Gimbert

Norman Charles GimBert, 75, of Keansburg, passed away, Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Born in Jersey City, to the late Walter Decker GimBert, Jr. and Norma Carlson GimBert, he lived there until moving to Keansburg. Norm worked as a self-employed carpenter and bartender at his family's business, GimBert's Old Time Cafe, Jersey City. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was also a collector of curious goods, and a "Jack-of-all-Trades." He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert D., Donald, and Charles Peter GimBert; and sisters, Jean Quintero and Louise GimBert. Surviving are his daughter, Linda GimBert and her husband, Daniel Sheets of Freehold. Also surviving are three brothers, Walter Decker GimBert, III, Ronald GimBert, and George GimBert and their families; three sisters, Nancy GimBert, Linda Corbett, and Norma Maier, and their families; and his "grand dog" and sidekick, "Major." Services and cremation will be held privately.
