Meet Jeff once , and you walked away knowing you had met a truly genuine human being, no facade or pretense. What you saw was what you got. My cousin had the ability to embrace and live life to the fullest always with his unique and infectious sense of humor. I will always remember all of the special occasions the Smith family had during Hoiidays growing up and how Jeff would keep the cousins and others laughing for hours. The Holidays became events you would look forward to not only for family, but to also look forward to what Jeff would come up with that day. A person you could always depend on, Jeff gave willingly of his time to the community as evidenced by his life long involvement in the numerous fire departments and community functions he served. The tribute to Jeff by the Point Pleasant Fire Department yesterday was particularly poignant in displaying how his community valued his life's dedication. A solid individual, Jeff's life and more importantly,, how he lived , will be fondly remembered and continue to be felt by all.
Rest in Peace Cuz!

I first met Jeff when my son joined Station 41 after 911 and the Station hosted an Explorer Post with BSA. I recall all the young men having positive remarks concerning his mentoring and genuine caring for their welfare. He has definitely left this world too soon, but the skills and memories he shared with the young men in Scouting and fire service will go on for generations to come. May he rest in peace and may you all find solace in the memories of your life together.

Where do I start? My Big Brother...protector and one of the best people I ever knew. You saved me countless times. You were a great Son, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Father, Uncle, and last, but not least, Pop. I can not even imagine a world without you, and it will certainly never be the same. Kids miss you so much too. Give Mom and Dad a hug for me. We love you forever and will see you again someday. Love you, Big Bro! God's Speed...
Love,
Kelly, Ariel, Devin, Kacey and Connor
