Obituary of Jean M. Arnot

Jean M. Kennedy Arnot, 86, loving mother and wife, passed away July 3, 2016 surrounded by her loving family in her home in Lakewood, NJ. Jean was born November 6, 1929, in Jersey City, NJ where she graduated high school. She later married Walter J. Arnot of Jersey City and moved to Point Pleasant Boro, NJ to raise their 6 children near the Jersey Shore. Jean was very proud to be an active member of the Girl Scouts for over 50 years. Jean became a crossing guard in Point Pleasant in 1977 where she enjoyed crossing school children for 25 years before retiring in 2002. Jean was also very proud to be a Point Boro HS Band Booster raising money for the Marching Panthers so they could travel all over the country including participating in the Mardi Gras Parade. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1995. Jean is survived by her sister, Claire Chapek, 94, of Wayne, NJ; 6 children, Mary Alice Warren, Toms River, NJ; Jean Marie Brasel, Dallas, TX; Virginia Ann Childs, Dallas, TX; Thomas Michael Arnot, Medford, NJ; Catherine Ellen Purcell, Chesterfield, VA; Margaret Mary DeJarnett, Dallas, TX; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Viewing is Wednesday, July 6, from 4-8 p.m. at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 7, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church, East County Line Rd., Lakewood, followed by Interment at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
