Obituary of Marie T. Burke

Marie T. Burke, 85, passed away peacefully at home on July 31st after a long illness. She was born in Long Branch and lived in Lakewood until she moved to Point Pleasant in 1953. She was the daughter of the late, Leslie and Helen (Robertson) Truex. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, George D. Burke. She is also is survived by her son, Bradley Burke and his wife Shirley of Point Pleasant and her daughter Suzanne (Burke) Muller and her husband Thomas of Howell. She has five grandchildren, Christopher Burke and his wife Amy of Kenvil, Jason Burke and Tara Fahey of Jackson, Shawn Burke of Brick, Scott Muller and his wife Sarah, who are teachers in Kuwait, and Julie (Muller) Yoskowitz and her husband Joshua of Brick. She also has three great-grandchildren, John, Haulden, and Maddox. Raising her children and spending time with family were the most important things in her life. She also loved working outside in her garden. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, August 4 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Friday, August 5 a service will be held at the funeral home and interment will follow at Laurelton Cemetery, Brick.
