Obituary of Ruth Elaine Iannello

Ruth Elaine Girshin Iannello, 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, October 14, 2016. Born in Richmond, VA to the late Jack & Jeanette Girshin she lived in Edgewater, Paramus, East Orange and has resided in Point Pleasant since 1989 and wintered in Melbourne Beach, FL for the last 16 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She had close relationships with family and longtime friends going back to elementary school. She retired from Red Star Trucking in the mid nineties, and continued getting together with close work friends, until her recent illness. She loved to read, to knit, and walk in the park with her husband and dog. She was an avid gardener with "green thumbs" who could grow anything. She was a member of the Point Pleasant Garden Club. She was an excellent cook and family and friends have memorable moments sitting around the table eating and telling stories. Surviving are her husband of forty years, Carmen Iannello. Also surviving are her three children, Anne, Robert, and Mark, four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nicole, Jonathan, and Rhiannon, two-great-grandchildren, Matthew and Bentley, and dog Squirt. She had a tremendous presence in all of our lives, and will be dearly missed by all of those whose lives she touched. Cremation was held privately.
