Obituary of Marion M. Simmons

Marion M. Simmons of Manchester passed away, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She grew up in Jersey City and graduated from Newark State College with a degree in education. She then went on to teach fourth grade at Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School, Point Pleasant. Marion was an avid traveler, especially to Scotland. She was a loving daughter, loyal friend, voracious reader, and an inspiring mentor. Marion was also a true supporter of the NY Yankees. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marion Macdonald; and her brother, Norman Macdonald and his wife, Frances. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m., Thursday, April 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 3:30 p.m. a service will be held.
