Obituary of Jean E. Hofacker

Jean E. Matthews Hofacker, 101, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Born in Point Pleasant to the late Harry Matthews and Martha Goble Matthews, she lived there for all of her life. Jean sang with the Sweet Adelines and was a member of Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene F. Hofacker, Sr.; sisters, Florence Roe and Edna Swanson; and brothers, Lewis and Russell Matthews. Jean is survived by her son, Eugene F. Hofacker, Jr.; and daughter, Joan Hild and Hugh Hild, all of Point Pleasant. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dena Lee Wade (Todd); Eugene F. Hofacker, III, and George Warren; and her great-granddaughter, Delaney.

Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m., Thursday, August 24 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.  At 11 a.m., Friday, August 25 a service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment at White Lawn Cemetery, Point Pleasant.
