Obituary of James G. Duffy, Sr.

James G. Duffy, Sr., 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Meridian Nursing Center, Brick. Born in Oxford, NY, to the late James J. & Matilda Duffy, he lived in Upstate NY and has resided in Point Pleasant since 1970. Mr. Duffy was a retired bridge operator for the State of New Jersey. He also worked for Ford Motor Company for thirteen years. In his youth, he was a minor league baseball player for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, of forty-eight years, Geraldine Ambrosano Duffy and by his sister, Audrey Loftus. Surviving are two sons, James G. Duffy, Jr. of Point Pleasant and Scott V. Duffy and his wife Wendy of Beachwood; his daughter, Jacqueline Anilonis and her husband James of Point Pleasant; his sister, Claire Bernardo; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Amy Anilonis. Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, October 26 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Saturday, October 27 a service will be held at the funeral home followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
