Mary Parsons

Obituary of Mary C. Parsons

Mary Corcoran Parsons, 88, of West Orange, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Point Pleasant. She was precedeceased by her husband, William P. Parsons; and sisters, Kay Tarrant and Peggy Freeze. Survived by her children, Sally Luciano and husband Leonard, Tim Parsons and wife Geraldine, Mary Lou Parsons-Hye and husband George H. Hye, and Raymond Parsons; six grandchildren, Christy Hughes Callas, Thomas F. Hughes 3rd, Dean and Marylin Scardino, Lenny and Lauren Luciano; two great-grandchildren, Michael Thomas Callas and Kendra Hughes; and two sisters, Sally DeGruccio and Pat Harty. Mary attended dance, tap, jazz, and aerobic classes three times a week up until she became ill in 2011. She was fun loving and outgoing, with a big sense of humor. Always spoke her mind in the most colorful of ways. Mary lived life with a passion savoring every moment. In her 60's when working mothers were looked down on she went to work. She was the creator of hot dogs in a thermos. A great mother who sacrificed much so we were never without. Her life was hard, but she loved even harder. A comedian at heart and always making us laugh, she left this world on April Fool's Day. Anyone who knew Mary Parsons could not help but be enamored by her. I am proud to be her daughter. Rest now, say hi to Dad. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, Apr. 5 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 6, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, contributions made in her memory to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org would be appreciated.
