Obituary of Dorothy Ann Sonzogni

Dorothy Ann Sobush Sonzogni, 84, of Brick, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 7, 2013. Born in Chicago, Ill., to the late Jack and Mary Sobush, she had lived in Union City and in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick. Mrs. Sonzogni served in the US Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War and for many years worked as a Registered Nurse at Christ Hospital, Jersey City. She enjoyed to read, sew, and crochet. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Sonzogni in 1998. Surviving are two daughters, Michele Burlington and her husband Frank of Ridgefield Park and Mary Jo Cleary of Brick; one son, Matthew Sonzogni and his wife Joan of Point Pleasant; her brother, James Czysen and his wife Dorothy; her sister, Philomena Fletcher and her husband Pete; and four grandchildren, Alexis Seiferling, Nicholas Maximillian Frega, and Matthew & Michael Sonzogni. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, June 11 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 12 a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
