Obituary of Diane F. Paulus Johnson

Diane F. Paulus Johnson, 67, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away, Saturday, September 7, 2013. Born in Cleveland, OH, to the late Harry & Helen Paulus, and formerly of Bronxville, NY, she has lived in Point Pleasant Beach since 1966, which is when she married her sweetheart Bill. Mrs. Johnson worked as a legal secretary for Kevin Kelly, Attorney at Law, throughout his career and for thirty-five years served as the Point Pleasant Beach Planning Board Secretary. As members of the Point Pleasant B.P.O. Elks Lodge, No. 1698, her and Bill greatly enjoyed many years there with good friends. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing Bingo, sitting on her porch, being a grandmother, cooking her specialties, and trips to the track with her husband. Most of all she loved spending time with family, and being a member of the 7 Sisters. She was predeceased by her best friend and husband, Bill and by her brother, Billy Paulus. Surviving are her son Bill Johnson and his wife Piper of Omaha, NE and their children Kincaid, Payton, Sawyer and Mac; and her daughter, Kim Gallagher and her husband Denis of Point Pleasant and their children Kaylee, Liam and Danny. Also surviving are four brothers, Harry, Jimmy, Jackie, and Russell Paulus; six sisters, Joanne Vecchione, Barbara Gutekunst, Mary Beth Babcock, Nancy Acciavatti, Terese Ghio, and Christine Mueller. She was loved by many nieces and nephews who all have wonderful memories of Diane. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 11 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Thursday, a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Peter, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
