Obituary of John T. Poggi

John T. Poggi, 57, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Lifelong residents of Chatham NJ, John and his wife recently relocated to Bay Head, NJ. John was raised in High Bridge and was a graduate of Delbarton School '73, and Boston College '77. John was Vice President and an owner of family operated Hilltop Petroleum. A coach of Chatham youth sports teams for many years, John was a member of the Clifton Moose Club and a lifelong fan of the NY Giants. John is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Ann Mary Poggi. Surviving are his loving wife of thirty-four years, Susan Bossow Poggi; son, Kenneth of Cranford; and daughters, Elizabeth of Washington, DC and Kara of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Poggi; two sisters, Barbara Poggi, and Susan Hagen; and his father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Bossow. Visitation will be held Friday, October 4 from 7-9 pm; and Saturday, October 5 from 10-11:30 am followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am. Services will be at Pable Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road Point Pleasant NJ.
