Obituary of William F. McComas

William (Bill) F. McComas, Jr., 81, left this life on December 7, 2013, at home in the arms of his loving family. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Wolf; father, William McComas, Sr.; and daughter, Dianne Holroyd. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Eleanor; daughter ,Tammy Anderson and partner Rosalie LoScrudato; daughter, Terri Callan; daughter, Holly Lerner and her husband Howard; sister, Gail Duym; sons, Daniel and wife Lynne, William, and Glenn and wife Lori McComas; 12 grandchildren: Chelsea, Mariellyn, Breanna, Amanda, Samantha, Stephanie, Jessica, Shawna, Ashley, Charlotte, Glenn, and Dominique; 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Bill was born and raised in and around Newark, NJ. He served proudly in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the NJ Carpenters Union Local 2250 and rebuilt boats and houses for his own pleasure. He was adventurous and enjoyed spelunking, mountain climbing, and scuba diving. Imagination, innovation, and ingenuity were some of his strong traits. He had an avid interest in history, treasure diving, and American Indians Tribes of the Southwest and read about these subjects extensively and was well-versed. He enjoyed traveling, cruising the Caribbean with his beloved wife, often spoke fondly of his wilderness trek into Canada, and loved his trips to AC. He was an animated storyteller. His humor and sarcastic wit will be sorely missed. At 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13 an inurnment service and military honors will take place in the chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Cemetery, Provinceline Road, Arneytown.
