Obituary of Jeannette E. Sloan

Jeannette E. Lichtenson Frankle Sloan, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was 108 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Gabriel and Rachel Lichtenson, she was raised there and had lived in Howell and later in Jackson, moving to Point Pleasant seventeen years ago. Jeannette was a classically trained pianist and graduate of the Juilliard School and made her debut at Carnegie Hall at the age of fourteen. She worked as a choir director and organist for Temple Beth Am, Lakewood, for forty-five years. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Frankle; her son, Richard Frankle, her granddaughter, Bonnie Frankle; and her brother, Harry Lichtenson. Surviving are her daughter, Gail Norkus and her husband David of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are her daughter in law, Barbara Frankle; four grandchildren, Brian Norkus, Donna McLeod and her husband Gregory, Scott Norkus, and Ellen Mirasola and her husband Sal; fifteen great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, Julia, Colin, Amanda, Tyler, Alyssa, Abigail, Brenna, Max, Bryant, Brittany, A.J., Cory, and Tyler; and two-great-great grandchildren. At 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 7 a service will be held at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, followed by interment at Beth Olam Cemetery , Lakewood .
