Obituary of Brian Edward Cox

Brian Edward Cox, 42, of Toms River, passed away, Friday, January 10, 2014. Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Point Pleasant and returned to Jersey City, where he lived until moving to Toms River last year. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant Borough High School where he played baseball and wrestled. Brian worked as a roofer for David J. Spader Roofing and various other construction jobs. He liked fishing, motorcycle riding, surfing, the NY Giants, and his favorite bands, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Brian had a great sense of humor that will forever be remembered. Surviving are his mother, Nancy Samler and her husband David of Point Pleasant; his father, Edward "Ned" Cox and his wife Roselyn Dodson of Jersey City; his maternal grandmother, Petronella Spader; four brothers, Ned Cox, David Cox, Matthew Cox, and David Samler; his niece, Kaya; and his nephew, Evan. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 3 - 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 5:30 p.m. a service will be held. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, NJ 08723 would be appreciated.
