Obituary of Jack W. Colberg

Jack W. Colberg, 87, of Brick, passed away, Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Born in Kemmerer, WY, to the late Carl and Norma Colberg, he lived in the Bronx and for thirty-eight years in Point Pleasant, moving to Brick last year. Jack was a proud United States Navy, World War II and Korean War veteran. He transferred to the US Naval Reserves and retired in 1986. He worked for ConEd, New York, for forty-two years and retired as an energy utilization engineer. Mr. Colberg was an avid golfer; active member of the ConEd Retirees Association; as well as the Tin Can Sailors; and was a communicant of the Church of Saint Martha, Point Pleasant. He was predeceased by his sister, Jean McSweeney. Surviving are his beloved wife, of sixty-four years, Irene E. Colberg (nee Devlin); and fours sons, John "Jack" Colberg and his wife Linda of Shenandoah, VA, Dennis Colberg and his wife Karen of Exeter, RI, Timothy Colberg of Neptune, and Gary Colberg and his wife Kim of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jessaca, Christine, Michael, Charlie, Kevin, Morgan, and Cheyne; and three great-grandchildren, Catarina, Alexis, and Aislinn. At 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20 a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
