Obituary of Willard C. Wuethrich

Willard C. Wuethrich, 90, of Brick, passed away, Friday, January 17, 2014. Born in Newark, to the late Frederick & Henrietta Wuethrich, he was formerly of Millburn and Union, residing in Brick for many years. Mr. Wuethrich graduated from Millburn High School in 1941 and entered the US Navy serving upon the USS Langley as an Electrician's Mate during World War II. He joined his father's construction business and built many homes in Union County. Also he and his brother Frederick were co-owners and operators of the "Ranch House" in Kenilworth. In the few years before retiring, he ran a hot dog van off Route 22 in Springfield. Willard had a presence in the lives of all who knew him. He had a long, good life and was loved by his family and friends. He will be remembered as everyone's "Pop Pop." He was predeceased by his wife, Martha (nee Karpenski); son, Willard; and brother, Frederick. Surviving are two sons, Fred Wuethrich and his wife Debbie of Brick and David Wuethrich and his wife Mary of Union. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kyle Wuethrich and his fiance Kat Schadt, Eric Wuethrich and his partner Tom Harrison, and Alexandra Wuethrich. A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 12 Noon Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11:30 a.m., remembrances will be shared and military honors rendered. As an expression of sympathy contributions made in his memory to VNAHG'S Project R.E.A.L.
