Obituary of Grace Egan Volz

Grace Egan Volz, 87, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, January 24, 2014. Born in New York City, to the late Michael and Nora Egan, she was formerly of Newark and Belleville, and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1959. Mrs. Volz was a retired X-Ray transcriptionist supervisor from Point Pleasant Hospital. She also worked in food service at the Ocean Road and Memorial Schools, Point Pleasant, and in her youth for Westinghouse and Western Union, Newark. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Company No. 1, Point Pleasant, and liked crossword puzzles and Jeopardy! She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Volz, Jr. and sister, Joan Holland. Surviving are her daughter, Patrice A. Satterfield and her husband Dennis of Point Pleasant; and two grandchildren, Meghan and Jesse. At 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 a Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Avenues, Point Pleasant Beach.
