Obituary of Lester W. Dwyer

Lester W. Dwyer, 77, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away, Monday, February 17, 2014. Born in Point Pleasant, to the late Lester L. and Muriel (nee Snell) Dwyer, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Dwyer worked for the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach, retiring as superintendent of the Public Works department. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, Point Pleasant Lodge, No. 1698; and was also an avid softball and dart league player. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph. Surviving are his beloved wife, of 55 years, Jean M. Dwyer (nee Clarkson); one daughter, Theresa Koch and her husband David of Brick; two sons, William Dwyer of Point Pleasant, and Joseph Dwyer and his wife Kelly of Waretown; and three grandchildren, Michael, Julia, and Casey. Also surviving are one sister, Dolores Piteo; and two half sisters, Lisa and Gail. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21 a Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Aves., Point Pleasant Beach, followed by inurnment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
