Obituary of Julia E. Freestone

Julie E. Johnson Freestone, 64, of Point Pleasant, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Born in Newark, to the late Charles E. and Stella (nee Pawlowicz) Johnson, she has lived in Point Pleasant since 1969. Julie worked as an LPN at Point Pleasant Hospital and also as a private duty LPN. She had been a co-coordinator of the Point Pleasant Boro Rotary Club Ernie Freestone Memorial Car Show, which her late husband founded. She was an active member of the Point Pleasant Fire Department, Station 75, Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a former Girl Scouts of America leader and avid animal lover. Julie was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Ernest R. Freestone in 2006; and by her brother, Joseph Pawlowicz. Surviving are two sons, Fred Freestone and his wife Beth of Newark, DE and Ernie Freestone and his wife Tarah of Cherry Hill; and one daughter, Conni Freestone and her fiance David Fagan of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are two brothers, James Pawlowicz and Edward Johnson; her sister-in-law, Joan Pawlowicz; two grandchildren, Dohnovan and Devyn Renee; her extended Ladies Auxiliary family, and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 a service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
