Obituary of Caroline Havens

Caroline Karch Havens, 92, of Brick, passed away, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Ocean Medical Center. Born in Bakerton, PA on January 1, 1922, her family moved to Brushneck, NJ in 1927. She moved to Herbertsville in 1940 when she married Harry Havens, a life-long resident of Herbertsville. She was head cook with the Brick Township School System for twenty-four years, retiring in 1989, and was a member and past-president of the Herbertsville Fire Company, No. 1 Ladies Auxilary. Caroline was predeceased by her husband, Harry Havens; son, Harry Havens, Jr.; grandsons, Bryan J. and Kenneth L. Coyte; brothers, Albert and John Karch; sisters, Sonja Feenaghty, Josephine Karch, Stella Kourge, Laura Kemchick, and Theresa Karch. Surviving are her daughter, Anjanette Coyte and her husband Jeff of Herbertsville. Also surviving are her daughter-in-law, Joan Havens of Brick; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; her sister, Maryann Williams of VA; and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, services and cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
