Obituary of Edward J. Armstrong

Edward J. Armstrong, 83, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, March 8, 2014. Born in Jersey City, to the late Edward and Joanna Armstrong, he summered at his grandparent's Point Pleasant home and has lived there permanently since 1954. He was a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps Reserves and United States Army Reserves. Mr. Armstrong worked at Ciba - Geigy, Toms River, for thirty-two years, retiring as a manager. He loved going shrimping with his wife, Lorraine on the Indian River in Florida and was a member of the Old Guard, Brick. He was predeceased by his son, Gregg Armstrong. Surviving are his beloved wife, of nearly sixty years, Lorraine Judge Armstrong; four sons, Todd Armstrong (Randi) of Point Pleasant, Jeff Armstrong (Mary Senausky) of Chalfont, PA, Edward Armstrong (Kathleen) of Milton, PA, and Scott Armstrong (Edith Reed) of Rixeyville, VA. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Carole Armstrong; brother-in-law, John "Uncle Junior" Judge; and seven grandchildren, Dana, Alexander, Andrew, Adam, Kaitlyn, Cory, and Cody. Visitation will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 11 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. A 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12 a service will be held at the funeral home and followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
