Obituary of Margaret A. Dickerson

Margaret A. Walker Dickerson, 92, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away, Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Born in Almond, NY, to the late Rev. Thomas and Ada Walker, she was formerly of Fanwood and Dunellen, and has resided in Point Pleasant Beach since 1974. Mrs. Dickerson was a graduate of the New Jersey College for Women (Douglass College) and member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, Bay Head. She pursued the art of rug hooking and belonged to National Guild of Pearl McGown Rugkrafters, the Alice Beatty Chapter and the Spring Lake NJ Chapter of the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists, and The Rug Hooking Gathering at Longstreet Farm, Holmdel, NJ. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, William B. "Uncle Bill" Dickerson; three sisters, Annie Flood, Elizabeth Waldvogel, and Isabella Romond; and nephew, George Romond. Surviving are her daughter, Dian Jackovino and her husband David of Lavallette. Also surviving are three nieces, Anne Levine, Elizabeth Sebrowski, and Isabella Wiggins and their families. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Monday, March 31 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 1 a service will be held, at the funeral home, and will be followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
