Obituary of Diane Mary LaSpina

Diane Mary (DeMattheis) LaSpina, 69, of Lakewood, passed away, Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Born in Orange, to the late Frank and Faye DeMattheis, she was raised there and graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School as class valedictorian. She came to Point Pleasant at the age of 19 and lived there until moving to Lakewood ten years ago. Diane worked as a laboratory technician at Point Pleasant Hospital and later Ocean Medical Center retiring in 1996. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Diane is survived by her son, John LaSpina and his wife Sandy of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Lisa Bonevento and her husband Michael and Beverley Konopada and her husband Richard, all of Brick; and their father John LaSpina of Manasquan. Also surviving are her sister, Beverley Capoano of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren, Max, Olivia, Jordan, Ryan, Andrew, and Thomas; two nephews, Geno and Stephen Capoano; one grand-niece, Delany; four grand-nephews, Vincent, Nico, Victor, and Carmine; and her long-time friend, Linda Rogers. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m., Friday, May 16 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road.
