Obituary of Kenneth I. Newton
Kenneth I. Newton, Sr., 84, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Born in Clifton, to the late Franklin & Olive Newton, he was raised in Mantoloking and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1952.
Mr. Newton was retired from Woodhaven Lumber Co., Point Pleasant Beach.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member and past commander of the American Legion, Post 196, Point Pleasant Beach.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Ayers Newton.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth I. Newton, Jr. and his wife Judith of Millstone and Floyd Douglas Newton of Browns Mills; and his daughter, Lorraine A. Newton of Brick. He is also survived by his brother, Franklin Newton, Jr.; sister, Elise Hill; six grandchildren, Kenneth I., III and his wife Melissa, Scott and his wife Dani, Jeremy, Jennifer and her husband Brian, Janel, and Jeff and his wife Candice; and seven great-grandchildren, Natalia, Chase, Skylar, Cole, Addison, Aiden, and Chance.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m., Thursday, June 5 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Friday, June 6 a graveside service and interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Route 35 & Old Bridge Road, Brielle.
