Obituary of James A. Durkin

James A. Durkin, 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Saturday, October 4, 2014. Born in Asbury Park, to the late James T. and Irma Durkin, he was raised in Neptune and has lived in Point Pleasant since 1962. Mr. Durkin was a retired from Ciba-Geigy, Toms River, where he worked as a supervisor. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an avid woodcarver. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn; and by his brother, Ernest. Surviving are two sons, James J. Durkin of Forked River and Neil E. Durkin and his wife Mercedez of Cinnaminson. Also surviving are his sister, Kathryn Kinsley of Point Pleasant; and three grandsons, Christopher, Andrew, and Ryan. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 and from 10 - 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 11 a.m. a service will be held.
