Obituary of Janet D. Van Blarcom

Janet D. Marse Van Blarcom, 81, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014. Born in Piermont, NY, and raised in Tallman, NY, she has lived in Point Pleasant since 1974 and prior to that in Suffern, NY and in Mahwah. Mrs. Van Blarcom worked for Tender Years Child Care Center, Point Pleasant, and was an avid BINGO player. She was predeceased by her husband and childhood sweetheart, Richard Van Blarcom; and her brothers, George and Edwin Marse. Surviving are her son, Richard Van Blarcom of Point Pleasant; and two daughters, Janet Sherman of Toms River and Nancy McGowan of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lori, Christina, Scott, Amy, and Mark, Jr.; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Gavin, Gianna, and Abigail. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21 a service will be held, at the funeral home, and followed by interment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
