Grandpa was always happy to see you. Always an up kind of guy. I talked to him on the phone only a week before he got sick, he told me that he was doing ok, but that he was lonely. He isn't lonely anymore. He is happy with Grandma.

I had the honor of working with Fred for six years on Central Ave. I will miss his sense of humor.Engine 11 at the time was a bastion of Irish firefighters, Fred would say in his Irish brogue that he was from the "wee" county, County Lout.He was the senior man that always took the new guys under his wing, "here's the way you do it kid"he would say. He was a kind and decent guy who will be missed by all that knew him. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
