Obituary of Mark E. Smith

Mark E. Smith, 54, of Point Pleasant, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 27, 2009. A life long area resident, Mark was multi-talented in music, art, and cooking. He came home to care for his aged parents and did the laundry, house cleaning, and cooked three meals everyday for his family. He was a great father, brother, grandfather, and most of all loving son. He is so sadly missed. Surviving are his loving daughter, Jessica Ann Smith; his parents, Edward and Theresa Smith; two brothers, Earl Smith and Brian Smith; his sister, Eileen Smith; his stepdaughter, Melanie Young her husband Jay; two step-grandsons, Darren and Jay Young; and his former wife, Judith A. Dennis. He was predeceased by his step son, Jimmy Dennis. At 9:30 a.m., Thursday, October 1, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Martha, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, donations made to his daughter, Jessica Ann Smith, c/o 1200 Sleepy Hollow Rd., Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 for her further education would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are by the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant.
