Obituary of Bernice J. Hayden
Bernice J. White Hayden, 87, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away, Sunday, October 25, 2009 at home.
Born in Clifton, to the late John and Mae White, she was formerly of Saddle Brook and summered in Point Pleasant Beach since 1972, moving there permanently ten years ago.
Bernice worked as a waitress for the Marriott Corporation, Saddle Brook, for many years. She proudly served her country during World War II as a US Navy, WAVE.
During all seasons she loved going to the beach, adored animals, and was a member of The Glorious Years, Point Pleasant.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William J. Hayden, her son, William J. Hayden, III, and by her brother, John White, Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Maureen Hayden of Paterson and Bernice A. Hayden of Saddle Brook; her son, Stephen Hayden of Point Pleasant; and her granddaughter, Amber Hayden.
At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, 63 Monroe Street, Passaic. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Saddle Brook. There are no calling hours and those attending may meet directly at the church.
As an expression of sympathy, donations made in her memory to the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, NJ 08723 are suggested. The Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
