Obituary of Elinore C. Griggs

Elinore Clark Griggs, 79, of Bay Head, passed away, Thursday, November 26, 2009. Born in Newark, to the late John and Nora (Burke) Clark, she lived there and summered in the area since 1978, moving to Bay Head permanently in 1995. She worked for the County of Essex, Division of Welfare, for twenty-five years, retiring as a supervising clerk. Elinore and her husband John were active volunteers for the Saint Gregory Food Pantry, Point Pleasant Beach. She was a member of the Women of Irish Heritage and the Ocean County Republican Club. Elinore was also a member and past officer of the Women's Republican Club of Mantoloking & Bay Head; and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head, where she was a member and past officer of the parish Rosary/Altar Society Surviving are her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, John; her daughter, Norah English and her husband Edward of Bay Head; her son, John Griggs and his wife Nancy of Kinnelon; three grandchildren, Amy VonSuppiny, John & Donovan Griggs; and a great-granddaughter, Jacklyn Daniels. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 29 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church. Cremation will be held privately.
