Obituary of Rosemary R. Hawthorne

Rosemary Reid Hawthorne, of Green Island, Toms River, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010. Born in New York City, to the late Alexander Hamilton Reid and Rose Sheridan Reid, she had lived in Jackson before moving to Toms River in 1978. Rosemary was a retired first grade teacher from Taunton School, Howell, where she taught for thirty six years. She was a graduate of Hunter College, New York, and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head. Surviving are her beloved husband of over fifty years, William G. Hawthorne; her son, William G. Hawthorne, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Point Pleasant; and two grandsons, William G., III and Bryan. Friends may visit from 2 - 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 3 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Thursday, March 4 a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a committal service at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
