Obituary of Lillian Agnes Romanowski

Lillian Agnes Whalen Romanowski, 85, of Brick, passed away, Friday, March 12, 2010 at her home. Born Jersey City, to the late Edward and Mary Brady Whalen, she lived there and has resided in Brick since 1950. For eleven years, Mrs. Romanowski worked for Westinghouse Electric, Jersey City, as a factory assembler for gun directories, mailroom manager, and retired in 1953 as an accounting manager. Prior to that she had been employed by F.W. Woolworth & Co., Jersey City store, as a clerk manager. Favorite hobbies include horseback riding, skating, and roller derby. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, who will cherish her forever. Mrs. Romanowski was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis S. Romanowski, the couple were married in 1950 at All Saints Church, Jersey City. Also she was predeceased by her siblings, Joan Mayer, Ruth Bujnowski, Vincent Whalen, Harold "Buddy" Whalen, and John "Jackie" Whalen. Surviving are her children, Lorraine Romanowski Traylor of Brick, Wayne Louis Romanowski and his wife Dianne of Point Pleasant, David Alan Romanowski and his wife Mary Jo of Wall and Kelly Patricia Romanowski of Brick; her sister, Rita Heddy and her husband Glenn; her brother, Edward Whalen; three granddaughters, Lauren Ashley, Kyra Lynn, and Victoria Emily Romanowski; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit Tuesday, March 16, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17th, a service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. As an expression of sympathy, donations made in her memory to either the Jersey Shore Animal Center, Saint Jude Children's Hospital, or the Disabled American Veterans, would be appreciated.
