Obituary of William Ryder Fall

William Ryder Fall, Point Pleasant, born on September 4, 1915 in North Bergen, New Jersey, passed away on Good Friday, April 2. 2010 at the age of 94, dying of a broken heart following the passing of his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Helen, on February 1, 2010. Following his graduation from Union Hill High School, Bill was a bank clerk with Seaboard Trust Company in Hoboken, attended college at night, and became an accountant with Radio Corporation of America (RCA). When he was transferred to RCA's Woodbridge plant, in 1955, Bill and Helen moved their family to Point Pleasant, where they had vacationed for many years. Bill and Helen met through Grove Reformed Church in North Bergen, and they were married on July 11, 1942. They lived in Union City, and then Weehawkin, before moving to Point Pleasant. Bill was an active member of the community, serving as president of the Point Pleasant Little League, and was a longtime volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Bill also served as Treasurer of the Borough of Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Board of Education for over twenty years, and performed accounting and bookkeeping services for several corporations. He retired from his many jobs in 1980. His greatest joy came from his family. Bill is survived by his son, the Honorable Robert A. Fall and his wife Elaine, of Point Pleasant; his daughter, Judith A. Yachechak and her husband Robert, of Point Pleasant; his grandson, William Ryder Fall, II and his wife Sarita, of Point Pleasant; his granddaughter, Janine Leah Capsouras and her partner, Suzanne Bunin of Saline, Michigan; his granddaughter, Rachele M. Fiorovanti and her husband, Matthew of Point Pleasant; his granddaughter, Deanne Glenn and her husband Thomas of Point Pleasant; his great-grandsons, Ryder William Fall and William Thomas Glenn, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. When he was five years old in 1920, Bill lost his father, George Alexander Fall, II, and was also predeceased by his mother Edith Annette Fall in 1964; his sisters, Edith E. Fall in 1910 at age 3, and Anna Marie Fall in 1930, at age 21; and his brothers, David Valentine Fall, II, in 1910, at age 2; George Alexander Fall, III, in 2002, at age 90; and James Arthur Fall, 2010 at age 96. Bill was a Mason for more than 70 years, and a member of the Durand Lodge No. 179 of Point Pleasant Beach. He was also member of the Grand Council of the Order of De Molay, serving as Master Counselor of the Alexander Hamilton Chapter in Hudson County. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant, where at 8:30 p.m. a service will be held.
