Obituary of Leonard Novitch

Leonard Novitch, 87, of Brick, passed away, Sunday, April 11, 2010. Born in Middle Village, Queens, NY and raised in Hoboken, he has lived in the Brick area since the 1960's. Len was a proud veteran of World War II. He entered the United States Air Corps and was stationed at Hickam Field during the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. He later was transferred to the Army and served in the Mojave Desert and in the 10th Army Division under the leadership of Gen. George S. Patton. Currently a partner of L. & P. Novitch, L.L.P., he began his career as a Public Accountant sixty-three years ago with offices in Point Pleasant Beach and currently in Brick. Len was a graduate of Seton Hall University and member of the NJ Association of Public Accountants and the National Society of Public Accountants. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Novitch and by his brother, Dr. Solomon Novitch. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis B. Novitch; his daughter, Vicki Wojcik and her husband Michael; his grandson, Michael Wojcik, two granddaughters, Morgan Wojcik and Jacqueline Novitch and her mother Patricia Montenegro; his brother, Dr. Edward Novitch and his wife Gladys; his sister, Glenda Kiviat and her husband Victor; two step-sons, Glenn Innella and Frederick C. Fauhl, Jr.; and his step-daughter, Mandy Innella. Relatives and friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., on Wednesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 15 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 16 a service will be held at the funeral home followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
