Sorry Fred to hear of the passing of your dad. My dad was also born in Newark and worked in Harrison for RCA. He would be 100 this year but he passed in 1981. My prayers are with you and your family.

Fred was bigger than life, he willed it so. He was my mentor as I was going from the Navy to civilian life. I treasure the years and adventures we shared or more appropriately, I carried the luggage...if Fred was involved, he was in the cockpit. My admiration for Fred never diminished, he always surprised and always delivered. I learned from him and he had a great influence on me and the engineering profession I chose. I am grateful for what he gave to me and our many associates. My sympathies and condolences go to his family, friends and neighbors. He leaves a good mark on the world. As is said in the Navy, may he always have fair winds and following seas in his new journey...standby St. Peter.

I met Mr. Bryant (no, I didn't call him Fred) in the early 1980s. I remember him being bigger than I thought he would be (based on knowing his scrawny son Jeff). I also remember him being all about sailing (pretty much just like Jeff at that point in his life). But he was a big personality, too, and after years of knowing Jeff I began to understand just how Jeff got to be who he was. It was fun seeing them both together, father and son. I know he will be missed.
