Obituary of Muriel J. Kluge

Muriel Manthey Kluge, 78, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2010 at her home. Born in Newark and formerly of Kearny, she has lived in Point Pleasant since 1958. Mrs. Kluge was retired from the operations center of Summit Bank, Point Pleasant. A devout communicant of Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach, she currently worked part time in the parish office. She was predeceased by her parents, Roland and Ellen (nee Daniels) Manthey; her daughter, Cynthia Kluge; her brother, Edward Manthey; and by her beloved husband, Robert J. Kluge. Surviving are her children, Rev. Stephen Kluge, OFM, of Beach Haven, Kevin Kluge and his wife Valerie of Freehold, Allison Shields and her husband John of Point Pleasant Beach, Jennifer Nolan and her husband Michael of Brick, and Richard Kluge and his wife Camille of West Milford. She also leaves her much loved grandchildren, Kelan, Ian, Megan, Shane, Conor, Kaeli, Ryan, Hunter, Robert, Michaela, Catherine, and Chloe. Relatives and friends may visit from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, June 3 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11 a.m., Friday, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Aves., Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt. As an expression of sympathy donations made in her memory to either Saint Peter School, Point Pleasant Beach, or to Saint Francis Food Pantry, Brant Beach, would be appreciated, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
