Obituary of William J. Sedlacek

William Joseph Sedlacek, 86, of Point Pleasant Beach, a cherished father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010, surrounded by his loving children. He was the son of the late Paul & Anna (Hrubos) Sedlacek. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia and son, William and three grandchildren, Victor, Serena, and David, all of Point Pleasant Beach. He was born in Irvington and lived in Union before moving to Point Pleasant Beach in 1975. Mr. Sedlacek graduated from Irvington High School where he played varsity football. He served as a seaman First Class in the United States Navy and received his wings as a US Naval Air Crewman during World War II. He worked for the Operating Engineers, Local 825, until he retired in 1988. Relatives and friends may visit from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, June 14 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant. At 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at the BGWCD Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
