Obituary of Kevin A. Brue

Kevin Anderson Brue passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at home with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Kevin was born on October 6, 1970 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ; moving to Point Pleasant in 1977. Kevin graduated Point Pleasant Boro High School in 1988 and was a graduate of Penn State University and an active member of Triangle Fraternity. While at Penn State, he met his wife, Kimberly. They settled in Pennsylvania to raise their family, consisting of three beautiful children. In January of this year, they returned to Point Pleasant to be near family and their love of the shore. Kevin was a Senior Business Analyst for Sanofi Pasteur in Swiftwater, PA and, more recently a Technical Specialist at Bracco Diagnostics in Princeton, NJ. He was also an avid runner, completing many races and two marathons, finishing every race with pride. He still holds the Point Boro High School record for the 800 meter event at 1:58 set in 1988. Kevin was a member of the Melanoma Research Foundation's Running Team "Miles for Melanoma", running the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC in Nov. 2009. Kevin also had a love of boating, which created many fond memories with his family out on the water. Kevin treasured above all the life and love he shared with his wife and best friend, Kim, her love, courage and strength sustained him and the entire family through his illness. He also greatly cherished his family and friends, and the many times that were shared together. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Arthur Pysner and his grandparents, John E. and Alberta Brue. Kevin is survived by many family members who loved him deeply, including his wife, Kimberly (Helt) Brue; his children Kevin Jr., Karilyn Joy and Kathryn Anne; his parents John and Bonnie Brue of Point Pleasant; his brother John, his wife Jennifer and children Alexis, Haley, John III, Rylee; his brother Bryan, his wife Carrie and children Jamie, Bryan, Madelyn, Lauren, Hanna, Lindsay Peterson, Grace Peterson; his sister Bonniejoy Marini, her husband Paul and children, Paige and Benjamin; all of whom reside in Point Pleasant; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Edward and Carole Helt of Williamsport, PA; his brother-in-law Christopher Helt of Highland Park, NJ; his grandmother Eleanor Pysner, his extended family and many friends. There will be a receiving of family and friends at the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, on Friday, July 2nd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrate at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, Forman and Saint Louis Aves., Point Pleasant Beach at 9 am on Saturday July 3rd, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
