Obituary of Margaret C. Shields

Peggie Shields, 82, of Point Pleasant was reunited in heaven with her sweetheart, Whitey, Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Known to her family and friends as Mom, Nanny, Luv, Sis, and Peg she will be missed greatly. Her greatest joy was being with her girls and their families. Beth and Peter Patterson, Peggie and Ron Fream, and Kathleen and Rich Soldo; eight grandchildren, Bridgitte and Troy, Kelly and Drew, Rory and Liz, Patrick, Allison, Michael, Matthew, Gabrielle; three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Declan, Haiden, and one more on the way. Special memories of Peggie will include butterscotch parfaits, holiday gatherings, sewing machine humming, homemade pumpkin pies, a freezer full of applesauce cakes, the clicking of knitting needles, lots of fun projects, variety shows, Halloween costumes, garage sales, Channel 5, long lasting home perms, the healing power of Vicks vapor rub, rice bags, and her latest hand painted seashells. Visitation 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., Monday, July 5 at the Pable - Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 910 Beaver Dam Road. Funeral Liturgy, 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6 celebrated at Saint Peter Church, Forman & Saint Louis Aves., Point Pleasant Beach. A private cremation will follow. Donations may be made in her memory to either the Claremont Care Center Resident Activity Fund or Odyssey Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
